So I had a show as you can see from my last video and so I have pictures that a friend took of us and I also worked more on my music video. Right now I am editing and mixing some of the music that we have in the videos. But now I am thinking about changing my idea, because my band is going to be recording this next Saturday night so I am just thinking about using that music and putting my video around the music so it coordinates well. But I am getting a lot better by using garage band to mix and master my music for the video. I am going to try both ways and see how it goes, I just want a really good product to put out for my band.

My band finally played and this is a video that I am still working on. It’s being changed from more of a music video into like a documentary better. More like an inside the lives of CTF. Here is the video from our last live performance at the Alley in Fullerton made using the Mac.

This week in my 20% Time, I decided that I would work more on my music video. For the past couple of weeks I have been working on mixing the music so that when it came down to putting the music and video together they would synchronizing work. So through garage band and imovie I was able to add more effects and test out the video and see what I had so far. I still need more live footage because I don’t have much at all. But it is okay because my band has another show this Friday at the Alley in Fullerton. I will hopefully be able to get more footage of my band playing live and that would be very good for this video that I am making and would help with the progress of the video. The final product of this music video is going to hopefully be pretty intense and give my band maybe some more fans that we would always love to attract. Below is a Fly-er to my bands next show.

This week for my 20% Time I once again worked on my music with Garage Band. Its all coming together I just need to put in a few more drum beats and I think I should be pretty good overall. I want to also put Jing onto the laptops at school so that I can easily make screen shots of what I am doing and can also make my page more exciting but I will probably download it to the laptop for my next 20 percent time so I can show my progress a lot easier.

This week in my 20% Time I worked on mixing more music for my music video with garage band and I made a really cool new kind of like intro for the song and also we have new material online with my band so that is pretty cool as well. I love the mac books so much because with garage band I can seriously mix absolutely anything so easily  for the music video and it helps so much! The music video should be done in I think a couple more weeks at the least!

This 20% time I worked more on my new video that I am making for my band which is going to be an awesome music video with live performances from our shows. We recently just had a new show and I am finding footage from it and am really excited to put it into our new music video. I am hoping for this video to help my band with more publicity and get our name out there more. I have also been using Garage band on the mac to help me with the music mixing and to make it sound really good and legit. And so far it is coming out perfectly. Below is a picture from one of my bands performances which will be in the video.

This week in my 20% Time Tuesday I finally finished a new video that I made that I had been working on as a side project with my editing system that I use at school which still is iMovie. This took about 2 weeks to do and I used it for my friend in our school Pageant. Hope you like it!

This week in my 20% Time I have started on a new project which involves my band. Yes I am making my bands first music video, I have a hardcore band and our band name is Cease the Fatality and I am going to make a music video for us. Its going to be like half live video of us playing and half music of us at practice and other cool stuff in it as well like pits at our shows and other kinds of hardcore dancing as well. I am really excited to start on really using the imovie editing techniques to take this video to a higher level!

Today in class I wanted to see what the next level of editing system for the Mac had to offer, which is if you know absolutely anything about Mac or editing systems is of course Final Cut Pro. I have always heard so much about the editing system and I really wanted to see what is so great about it? And let me tell you, WOW! This editing system can seriously do it all. It seriously has the most comprehensive editing tools for anything in its price range. Which the price is about 1,300 without tax. Once I get more money and am able to buy a real Mac system for my more professional work then I am planning on buying this and I also really love the Final Cut Pro keyboard which is all the shortcuts you can using for perfect editing.

This week for my 20% time I watched another video that was also edited by imovie and it is about a folk comedy band and it was a comedy documentary. I studied the different transitions that ere used and other effects that were used as well and I thought it was a pretty funny video as well. Next week I will be soon starting on my next short film because I have been in the works on writing something and my friends have been giving me inspiration so prepare for something pretty big for my next video!

This week in my web page design class I watched a video that was made with imovie 08. The movie was about a guy who was an actual genius and he had powers to do math at all numbers and the film was about 50 minutes long and I felt was edited very well and I thought it was pretty cool and interesting to see the way the editing system that I am using can really do its work with a real film. I think I am going to start on my next film real soon.

This week for my 20 percent time I continued to watch a video that I had already been watching on Google video called the butler which I had already started and thought was pretty descent and wanted to finish it but am not done yet. I also checked my view count for the BMX video that I made and this week I am at 56 which shows that it is getting better and better each week so that’s good. I also went to a few other tutorials that were about film school and what I can also learn the through film editing which was entertaining and helpful at the same time. Next week I think I will start working on a new project but I need to get actual footage before I do it.

This week for my 20% Time I checked how many views I had for my video which was at about 24 which I guess is alright but I would like more people to see it because I really put in a lot of real hard work into it and I want it to be known too. I also watched a few more tutorials on Mac editing systems and a few more strategies on editing and how I can edit better and more efficiently as well. I am proud of what I have done and learned so far and I look forward to learn more and do better films as well.

Water Buffalo Lifesaver!

15 02 2008

In class I watched a video called four generations. The movie is about a poor family in Asia receiving a water buffalo as a gift because a guy by the name of Robert Thompson read a blog post about how if you donate 250 dollars then they will donate a water buffalo to a family. He was interested in it and decided to actually go through with it and documented it as well. He got some money from a guy who donated and he was off. He then bought a water buffalo and named it “Little Longhorn”. They then went looking for a family to give it to, a family that really did need it though. The thing about a water buffalo that is so big for a family is that it can do a lot of work for families if they have a field and also they asked how long a water buffalo would last for a family and they said it would last about half a year total.

I feel that the way he made the short was pretty cool, he said he only took 5-6 days to actually edit it. That is pretty fast for such a long short film. He used Final Cut Pro which I really want to get because it is a really awesome editing system for a Mac. The movie made a pretty huge impact and was very helpful to that family that did receive the water buffalo. We used Google Docs to use collaborative notes with each other. I really liked the movie and I think it was great that through using blogs people can change lives.

Blogs in Plain English

5 02 2008

Download Video: Posted by leelefever at TeacherTube.com.

The video Blogs in Plain English is a video that explains what Blogs are and how you use them. They explain that Blogs are for telling news through posts. Each blog can be a discussion by using comments to talk about the posts. This video basically is also a tutorial on how to use blogs as well because blogs are becoming a big part of our news and is a good way to have a voice and opinion so people can see what is on your mind and get news about different things. Some things I did not know but with watching the video I leaned that from 2003 70 million blogs have been made and that is a lot of users that are now in this networking way of communication
